A Look Ahead: This Saturday, July 8, Self will return to the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards in the No. 28 Sinclair Oil Chevrolet with Mason Mitchell Motorsports. Self is no stranger to Iowa Speedway, with two wins in NASCAR K&N Pro Series competition, and a start in the NASCAR Xfinity Series under his belt at the 7/8 mile oval.

Self on Iowa: “I’m so excited to get back to Iowa Speedway this weekend. It’s a special place for me. Iowa is the site of what is undoubtedly the biggest win of my career, when I won the K&N East/West combo event there in 2013, and the site of my first NASCAR Xfinity start. I love driving the ARCA cars, and after the run we had in the No. 28 Sinclair Oil Chevy at Pocono, I’m just excited about getting back on track. The guys at Mason Mitchell Motorsports have been great to work with. The put a ton of time in to their cars, so I’m hoping to make it all pay off this weekend.”

Mason Mitchell: ““I am really looking forward to having Michael back behind the wheel of one of our cars this weekend. He did a great job fighting through adversity last month at Pocono for a third-place finish. He has a lot of experience behind the wheel. I believe we have a great opportunity to end up in victory lane on Saturday evening at the Iowa Speedway.”

Car Info: The MMM car Self will be driving is chassis 594. This is the same car Self drove to a third-place finish at Pocono last month. The chassis won at Kansas Speedway with Mason Mitchell behind the wheel in 2015, and has since been converted into a composite body. The chassis has five prior starts earning one win (Kansas 15) two top-five’s and three top-ten finishes.

He returned to driving in the October 2016 ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards event at Kansas Speedway, where he earned a third-place finish. In 2017, he will be driving the Sinclair Oil No. 28 in select ARCA Racing Series events, as well as the No. 9 Sunrise Ford/Sinclair Oil Ford Fusion in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West.
