Race Weekend Information

Date: Friday, June 9, 2017

Event: General Tire #AnywhereIsPossible 200

Track: Pocono Raceway

Series: ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards

Watch it live: FOX Sports 1, 5:30PM EDT

Driver: Michael Self

Car: No. 28 Sinclair Oil Chevrolet SS

Team: Mason Mitchell Motorsports

Crew Chief: Mason Mitchell

A Look Back: On May 20, Self finished eighth place in the No. 9 Sunrise Ford Fusion at Orange Show Speedway, after a flat tire with 25 laps remaining removed him from second place.

A Look Ahead: This Friday, June 9, Self will take to the “Tricky Triangle” at the 2.5 mile Pocono Raceway. This will mark Self’s first visit to the Superspeedway, and his second start of the year in ARCA Racing Series competition.

Self on Pocono: “Any time I get to drive the Sinclair Oil Dino Car it automatically becomes one of my favorite race weekends. I still get giddy every time I look at the car, and can’t wait to get behind the wheel. I love running in the ARCA Racing Series. The competition is great, the car is a really good package, and they run some great tracks like Pocono. The thought of Pocono is a little intimidating, but having coached/spotted for Justin Haley there in this race last year, I’ve got some knowledge of the track, and will have a ton of experience and success at Pocono around me in the Mason Mitchell Motorsports crew. Those guys in the shop have worked really hard to get the Sinclair Oil No. 28 together, Mason has run really well at Pocono in the past, and Kevin Reed has always produced fast cars there.”

Mason Mitchell: “MMM is really looking forward to Michael joining our team for two races. He is one of the top talents in the country and I think our combination will result in success. MMM has always had a great track record at Pocono Raceway. Hopefully we can earn our first win at the 2.5-mile track.”

MMM Stats at Pocono: MMM has eight starts at Pocono dating back to their first season in ARCA in 2014. The team earned the pole for the 2014 August race with Mason Mitchell behind the wheel. The team has earned three top-five finishes and five top-tens. The teams best finish at the Pocono Raceway is second in June 2014.

Car Info: The MMM car Self will be driving is chassis 594. The car last raced at Pocono in June 2016. The chassis won at Kansas Speedway with Mason Mitchell behind the wheel in 2015, and has since been converted into a composite body. The chassis has five prior starts earning one win (Kansas 15) two top-five’s and three top-ten finishes.
