A Look Back: On March 25, Michael Self drove the No. 9 Sunrise Ford entry in a double-header NASCAR K&N Pro Series West event at Irwindale (Ca.) Speedway, bringing home a sixth- and third-place finish in the respective races.

A Look Ahead: Self returns to the No. 9 Sunrise Ford Fusion when the K&N Pro Series West travels to Spokane (Wa.) County Raceway on May 5. The 26-year-old driver has two previous starts at Spokane and hopes to beat his pair of sixth-place results at the half-mile oval.

Self on Spokane: The start of this year, racing-wise, has been incredible for me. Unimaginable really. I never thought that after three years of inconsistent driving in various series I would be back in a position of driving full time for a team that’s had the success of Sunrise Ford Racing. I can’t thank (owner) Bob Bruncati enough for what he’s giving me the opportunity to do, and great partners like Sinclair Oil Corporation for supporting me while I’ve worked my way back in to this position. I’m really hoping we can build on the momentum we had at Irwindale for that third-place finish, and go to Spokane where I have a lot of laps, and continue making gains with this team in my fight to get back in to victory lane.”
