Self Rebounds for Third at Michigan

Michael Self led the three-car Venturini Motorsports stable with a finish of third, a strong rebound from his last ARCA Racing Series event at Charlotte Motor Speedway where Self finished in the 21st position after retiring from the race early due to a suspension problem.

For the first time since 2004, the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards made it's return to Charlotte Motor Speedway on Thursday night for the General Tire 150. After a successful test several weeks prior, Michael Self was ambitious to get behind the wheel of the No. 15 Sinclair Oil Toyota for the first 1.5-mile speedway race of the year.

Self Starts on Top at Talladega, Finishes Third

Looking forward to his first start at the 2.66-mile superspeedway that's just 45 minutes outside of his birth city of Birmingham, was Michael Self. Self started the day strong for Venturini Motorsports in the No. 15 Sinclair Oil Toyota when he qualified on the pole position. This first place starting spot was the first ARCA Racing Series pole award for Self in 12 career starts.

This Friday, Self and Sinclair Oil Corporation will return to the No. 15 car for Venturini Motorsports for Self's inaugural start at the 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway. This will mark Self's third Superspeedway start, with the first two coming at Daytona International Speedway where he picked up his second career ARS victory in the season opener this year.
