A Look Ahead: This Saturday, Self will hit the track for the final time in 2017, driving the No. 9 Sunrise Ford Ford Fusion in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West season finale at the .5-mile Kern County Raceway. Not only is Self coming off a win in the ARCA Racing Series, he is also coming off back-to-back wins in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West at Meridian Speedway, and All American Speedway. Self sits fifth in NKNPSW points standings, four points behind third-place Derek Kraus.

Self on Kern: “Kern is an awesome place to race. We struggled a bit there in my first race with the Sunrise Ford guys earlier in the year, but we’ve built a lot of momentum and chemistry since then. We’ve found some speed lately so I’m anxious to try and carry it all the way to the end and try and finish the season, and this run with Bob Bruncati and the Sunrise Ford guys on a positive note. It’s been such an incredible opportunity to race with them this year, and I’m so pleased with the success we’ve had lately, I don’t want it to end. The last few weeks of being behind the wheel have just been unreal. To win three races in a row, and my first ARCA race is so rewarding after everything I’ve been working for for years now. I know Kern well, and I’m confident with the team I have around me so I’m going to go give it everything to try and end 2017 with four in a row.”
