Crew Chief: Jeff Schrader

A Look Back: Just a week ago, Self returned to the ARCA Racing Series driving the No. 28 Sinclair Oil Chevrolet for MDM Motorsports at Lucas Oil Raceway Park. Self finished a personal ARCA career-best second place after leading 39 laps.

A Look Ahead: Self returns to the 7/8 mile Iowa Speedway for the second time in three weeks, this time in the No. 9 Sinclair Oil Ford Fusion in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, driving for Sunrise Ford Racing. Self has two wins at the D-shaped oval in K&N series competition, in 2012 and 2013.

Self on Iowa: “This weekend is a little about redemption, and a lot about keeping up a good streak of finishes,” said Self. “I’m looking for redemption because we came so close to winning the ARCA race here a few weeks ago with Mason Mitchell Motorsports. I made a lot of mistakes that night that honestly took us out of it at the end, but we had the best car there, and led a lot of laps. We’ve racked up consistent top-fives and top-tens this year, but I want to get back in to victory lane so bad, especially with Sinclair on the car. Iowa has always been one of my favorite tracks. It’s such a great place to race because the track has so much character, it’s just a lot of fun going there. I hope we can use what I learned in the ARCA race a few weeks ago and apply it on Friday night, and bring home a solid run.”
