Car: No. 15 Sinclair Oil Toyota Camry

Team: Venturini Motorsports

Crew Chief: Kevin Reed

A Look Back: On April 7th, Self crossed the finish line fourth at the half-mile Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville. Exiting the event, Self retained the ARCA Racing Series points lead, but did not compete in the most recent series event at Salem Speedway.

A Look Ahead: This Friday, Self and Sinclair Oil Corporation will return to the No. 15 car for Venturini Motorsports for Self’s inaugural start at the 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway. This will mark Self’s third Superspeedway start, with the first two coming at Daytona International Speedway where he picked up his second career ARS victory in the season opener this year.

Self on Talladega: “I should probably feel really good about getting to Talladega after our win at Daytona, but I’m definitely still nervous and unsure about Superspeedway racing. Daytona was a huge step and a huge boost in confidence for me, and I definitely learned a ton, but every time you go to one of these Superspeedway’s I feel like it’s unrealistic to have any expectations. I know we need to do the same thing we did at Daytona, and keep our No. 15 Sinclair Oil Toyota clean throughout the entire race and we’ll probably have a good shot at a win, but it’s stressful to try and come up with a plan that gives us the best shot at doing that. I’m excited to be in the same car that we had at DIS, with the same crew, with a team that’s had a ton of success lately. Hopefully I can keep learning from all the guys around me and we can keep the momentum going on Friday.”
