A Look Back: On October 20th, 2017, Self drove the No. 28 Sinclair Oil Chevrolet to victory lane for the first time in the ARCA Racing Series, at the season finale at Kansas Speedway. The victory marked Self’s first win in nine career ARS starts. Self capped his 2017 season off with the win and four top-five finishes in six ARS starts, as well as two wins, seven top-fives, and 13 top-tens in 13 starts in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. Self finished fourth in the 2017 NKNPSW Championship standings.

A Look Ahead: This Saturday, Self will take the wheel of the No. 15 Sinclair Oil Toyota Camry for the first time in 2018 at Daytona International Speedway for the ARCA Racing Series season opener. The event will mark a return to Venturini Motorsports for Self, a team with which he has two previous starts, both of which coming in 2014.

Self on Daytona: “I’m excited to be back at Daytona, but also a bit nervous. Superspeedway racing is one type of racing that I’ll admit I’m not totally comfortable with. My only other start on a superspeedway was at Daytona last year, and even though I earned a lot I still finished the race in the garage with a wrecked car, so I’ll be trying to avoid that this year. I have a lot of experience around me at Venturini Motorsports, and I’ll be leaning on Kevin (Reed), and my spotter Mike Herman Jr. a ton, just to try and learn as much as possible both before, and during the race. The Sinclair Oil Camry looks amazing with the number 15 on the sides, and I’m really excited to get this year going with them, so hopefully we can start it off strong down here at Daytona.”
