Event: Scott 150

Track: Chicagoland Speedway

Series: ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards

Watch it live: FS1, 8:00pm CT

Driver: Michael Self

Car: No. 15 Sinclair Oil/Sapp Bros. Toyota Camry

Team: Venturini Motorsports

Crew Chief: Kevin Reed

A Look Back: On June 8th, Self brought home a podium finish in his inaugural start at Michigan International Speedway, crossing the finish line third. Self led 21-laps early on in the race, but a left-rear suspension issue caused the No. 15 Sinclair Oil/U.S. Turf Equipment team to fall behind and out of contention for the win.

A Look Ahead: This Thursday, Self, driving the No. 15 Sinclair Oil Toyota, will make his way to Chicagoland Speedway for the third time in his career. Self last competed at Chicagoland Speedway in the ARCA Racing Series in September, when he led 29 laps, and had a commanding lead with eight laps to go when his car blew a right-front tire, ultimately ending his day.

Self on Chicagoland: “I’ve been looking forward to this race ever since we left Chicagoland in September. That night was such a heartbreaker. We dominated the late part of the race after having a great car all day, and I thought I was going to get my first series win only to have it vanish just eight laps short. I love the track. It’s a unique shape, it’s rough, it has multiple grooves, and I feel like you really have to be on top of your game as a driver. The track changes a lot from day to night, so you really have to know what to expect when you race there. I’m hoping we can rebound from last year, and try to add another good finish after running well at Michigan last time out.”
