A Look Back: On April 27th, Self drove the No. 15 Sinclair Oil Toyota to a third-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway after starting from the pole. The top-five finish was Self’s third in just as many starts this season.

A Look Ahead: On Thursday, Self will make his first start in the city that stock car auto racing calls home at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The return to CMS will be the first time ARCA has raced at the venue since 2004.

Self on Charlotte: “I’ve been looking forward to this race all year. In my opinion it’s really cool to have the opportunity to race at Charlotte, no matter what you’re driving. It’s like the hub of stock car racing. I’m especially looking forward to racing there as part of the memorial-day weekend racing festivities. It’s the biggest weekend in racing around the world, and to be a part of it at Charlotte as a precursor to the Coca-Cola 600 is a really big deal. Apart from all that, I love racing on the intermediate tracks. The mile-and-a-half speedways are definitely my favorite places to go, so I’m really looking forward to just getting out there and racing on my favorite style track on Thursday night. We had a good test session a few weeks ago, and feel like we had a good idea of where we could improve, so hopefully we’ve made some gains in the shop and we can pick up on things quickly once we hit the track.”
