Date: Saturday, July 13, 2019

Event: Menards 250

Track: Elko Speedway

Series: ARCA Menards Series

Watch It Live: MAVTV, 9:00pm CT

Driver: Michael Self

Car: No. 25 Sinclair Oil Toyota Camry

Team: Venturini Motorsports

Crew Chief: Shannon Rursch

A Look Back: Self captured his 5th General Tire pole of the season and led 14 laps en route to a fourth-place finish at Chicagoland Speedway. The finish moved Self to eight top-five finishes in 12 races in the 2019 season and helped Self retain his championship points lead by 35-points over second place Bret Holmes.

A Look Ahead: Self and the Venturini Motorsports team will now head to the smallest track on the schedule, the 3/8-mile paved Elko Speedway. This will be Self’s first start at the short track that sits just outside Minneapolis, though Self has numerous starts on 3/8-mile tracks in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West.

Self on Elko: “I usually don’t get too excited about the short tracks, but Elko actually looks like a lot of fun. I’ve watched quite a bit of video and it looks very similar to some of the tracks I used to race late models or the K&N series at, like Colorado National Speedway or Roseville. Hopefully I can harness my knowledge of those tracks that I used to race on 5 or 6 times a year, and apply that here and figure the place out quickly. I definitely want to go in and have some fun and make the most out of this race that’s kind of unique for the ARCA cars.”
