Series: ARCA Menards Series

Watch It Live: MAVTV, 8:00pm CT

Driver: Michael Self

Car: No. 25 Sinclair Oil/Factory Canopies Toyota Camry

Team: Venturini Motorsports

Crew Chief: Shannon Rursch

A Look Back: In his first career start on dirt, Self claimed his fourth victory of the 2019 ARCA Menards Series season at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Springfield mile. Leading the final 47 of 100 laps by more than 3 seconds at times, Self survived a green-white-checkered restart to land the Sinclair Oil Toyota in victory lane.

A Look Ahead: With one dirt start and one dirt win now under his belt, Self looks to expand on the knowledge he gained at Springfield as the Venturini Motorsports No. 25 teams heads to its second and final dirt event of the season at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds. Though also one-mile in length, the Du Quoin, Illinois track differs from Springfield in shape and dirt compound, and the race will also be held at night time for the first time since 2016.

Self on DuQuoin: “I had an absolute blast learning and racing at Springfield, and while I’m hoping I can bring a lot of the knowledge I gained there to DuQuoin and utilize this weekend, a lot of the information I’ve gather has been about how different the two tracks actually are. DuQuoin has much longer corners, and the dirt is supposedly much more abrasive, plus it’s a nice race which means the dirt should hold more moisture, so I’m really going in with an open mind knowing I have a lot to learn again. I’m really fortunate to have a ton of knowledge around me at VMS when it comes to these dirt tracks, so I’ll definitely be leaning on the crew and asking as many questions as last time to try and figure this place out.”
