Date: Thursday, June 27, 2019

Event: Bounty 150

Track: Chicagoland Speedway

Series: ARCA Menards Series

Watch It Live: FS1, 7:00pm CT

Driver: Michael Self

Car: No. 25 Sinclair Oil Toyota Camry

Team: Venturini Motorsports

Crew Chief: Shannon Rursch

A Look Back: After a string of solid finishes at Michigan and Madison, Self and the no. 25 Sinclair Oil Venturini Motorsports team were struck with bad luck and mechanical issues once again at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway when an axle broke just before the midway point. Self qualified on pole and led a race-high 41 laps before the issue, but ultimately finished the race in 13th position after retiring on lap 85. Self still leads the ARCA Menards Series championship standings by 30 points.

A Look Ahead: Self and the team will look to rebound this week as they head to Chicagoland Speedway, where Self managed to take home the checkered flag after a late-race pass last year. Self has two prior ARCA Menards Series starts, and one start in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Chicagoland. Self is credited with one win, and has led 92 laps in ARCA competition at Chicagoland.

Self on Chicagoland: “Chicagoland is definitely one of my favorite tracks. I love all the intermediates we go to, but Chicagoland probably stands above the rest. It’s got so much character with its bumps and how abrasive it is, it’s a tough track to navigate and be consistent at. I feel like you really have to be on top of your game there. There are a lot of different lanes that can be run and it’s fun to move around and figure how to make your car work during the race. Last week at Gateway was a little bit of a kick in the gut, so I’m really hoping we can shake that and keep everything together this week. If we do, this team has shown how capable they are of bringing home solid finishes.”
