ARCA Racing Series Preview: Salem Speedway

After a two month break plus a race-weekend rain-out, Self will head to Salem, Indiana this Saturday to make his first start on the historic, high-banked Salem Speedway. Although Self has never competed at Salem, this won't be his first visit to the track, as he has spotted for current NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Justin Haley in two previous ARCA starts at the .5-mile short track.

It's been two months since Michael Self last took to the track in the ARCA Racing Series, but this Friday night, Self will climb back aboard the green and white No. 55 Sinclair Oil Toyota and look to build on the success he had earlier in the summer. Self, with Venturini Motorsports, will head to Indianapolis, IN. for the Shore Lunch 200 at the .6-mile Lucas Oil Raceway Park.

Promising Start at Iowa Ends in a Hole for Self

The ARCA Racing Series made it's way to Iowa Speedway for the 12th round of the 2018 schedule on Saturday, and fresh off his second victory of the year at Chicagoland Speedway was Michael Self in the No. 55 Sinclair Oil Toyota. Making his 10th start at the Newton, Iowa based short track, Self was enthusiastic about his chances.

This Saturday, Self will be behind the wheel of the same Sinclair Oil/Sapp Bros. Toyota that he raced at Chicagoland Speedway, but with different numbers on the side. Self will carry the Venturini Motorsports-owned No. 55 around the 7/8-mile D-shaped oval, as he did earlier in the year at Nashville Speedway.
